Welcome to the Total Eclipse movie at astrophotographs.com!

This movie has been created by using the "still" photographs of the eclipse, as seen in the "1998 Total Solar Eclipse" gallery of this web site. The event is also described in the narrative "Darkness in the Caribbean." The movie presented here was designed by lining up and duplicating the images into frames, and then adding dissolve sequencing frames. It gives the viewer some idea of the visual power of the eclipse, which is a very dynamic event. The movie is continuously looped; obviously, that's not the case with the actual eclipse. Try to imagine the entire totality as a three minute event: then you will get some impression of the power of this phenomena. Better yet, choose an eclipse, and travel to it! The beauty, energy and spirituality of the experience cannot be really described with words or photographs: you MUST attend.
