"Hyakutake
III"
Comet
Hyakutake
3/25 from Conifer, CO
5 minute time exposure -- 55mm f/2 on hypered Kodak Technical Pan
film -- same as "Hyakutake I." Notice
tail detachment event, which is quite rare on film. The event only
took about 20 minutes, proving that one must actually look and give
the comet a chance to "perform." Also, the tail has enlarged
to almost 40 degrees long (the Moon is 1/2 a degree wide) and very
bright, obvious to the most casual observer away from city lights.
